DEPORTATION-REMOVAL DEFENSE
Custody & Bond Redeterminations
Bond Redetermination requests are separate from removal proceedings.
Applications for bond redeterminations may be made by a Respondent in writing, in person, or in the discretion of the Immigration Judge, by telephone. The Immigration Judge’s decision on a bond redetermination application is entered on the appropriate form. Appeals of the Immigration Judge’s decision may be made to the Board of Immigration Appeals.
Deportation & Removal Proceedings

Motion to Reopen / Reconsider
Bond Redetermination requests are separate from removal proceedings.
Depending on the facts of each case, there may be times when a Motion to Reopen or Reconsider can be filed with the Court. Often times Motions to Reopen or Reconsider can be used in cases where an in absentia order of removal was rendered. Because of strict deadlines for Motions to Reopen and Motions to Reconsider, it is very important to seek qualified legal representation to evaluate the facts of the case.
