USCIS recently announced that on February 12, 2018, the Texas Service Center (TSC) will begin processing certain Form I-129 petitions for L nonimmigrant visa classification. USCIS has indicated that the TSC will share this workload with the California Service Center to balance workloads and to provide flexibility as USCIS works to improve processing times and efficiency.
Following USCIS’ announcement, AILA’s Vermont Service Center (VSC) Liaison Committee reached out to the VSC for additional clarification.
The VSC has confirmed that petitioners should continue to file L-1 petitions with the VSC until February 12, 2018, at which point, the TSC will begin accepting Form I-129 petitions requesting L nonimmigrant classification.
