Background
In early September 2018, there were reports of not receiving original or duplicate I-797 approval notices associated with adjustment of status applications after field office interviews were completed and, in some cases, after a permanent resident card had already been produced. In many cases, approval notices were not received despite the G-28 Attorney of Record receiving receipt/biometrics notices. Last week, the NBC acknowledged that a system error appears to have resulted in notices not being mailed to the attorney of record in specific cases and that it was working to resolve the issue.
November 15, 2018
The NBC has confirmed that this issue has been resolved and that affected cases would have approval notices re-printed and issued by the end of November 2018. The NBC did mention that it is possible that more than one approval notice will be issued.
